Padmashree Dr. C. R. Chandrashekar, a Senior Professor of Psychiatry at NIMHANS, Bengaluru, is a legendary figure in mental health. Having served for over three decades, he is fondly known as the "People's Psychiatrist" for his selfless service. He has authored over 250 books and 1,000 articles, primarily in Kannada & English, to demystify mental illness for the masses. After retirement, he founded "Samadhana," a free counselling center, continuing his mission of affordable care. A dedicated activist and writer, his contributions to public health education and community psychiatry remain unparalleled in Karnataka and beyond.

Mr. N. VISHWARUPACHAR, Formerly Health Supervisor, Dept. of Health & Family Welfare Services, Govt. of Karnataka is a well-known health science writer in Karnataka. More than 100 titles on various aspects of health have been written and published by him. Almost all of his books are much in demand and reprinted several times. He has written on almost all the areas of health and illness like arthritis, knee problem, diabetes, various mental health topics, sex counselling, art and health etc. He is the past President of Kannada Vaidyasahitya Parishat, Bangalore. He is Founder, International Mental Health Forum Trust (R).
